Welcome to the Classical Music Appreciation Club (CMAC), a vibrant and growing community of classical music enthusiasts in the bustling city of Cape Town. Whether you're a seasoned concertgoer or entirely new to the genre, CMAC provides an inclusive and supportive platform for exploration, connection, and education.
Our mission is to break down the stiff barriers of classical music, remove the wall between audience and stage and make this timeless art form accessible and engaging for the younger generation in Cape Town. At CMAC, we understand the importance of fostering a sense of community and shared appreciation, while also ensuring that our events are relaxed and enjoyable.
We regularly meet up at concerts around Cape Town, and offer our members complimentary tickets and discounts when we can. We have also launched our first concert series at Youngblood, tickets are now on sale.
To stay up to date, join the club.

A few years ago, I decided to see a concert at the Baxter to immerse myself a little more in the world of classical music, being a somewhat distant lover of classical music at the time. After the awe-inspiring performance of Shostakovich's Piano Trio No. 2 and several fugal works, my passion for classical music truly surfaced.
Since then I have completely immersed myself in the wonders of classical music and piano playing, currently I am studying under the pianist and UCT professor Francois du Toit at the South African College of Music.
I decided to start this club for other teenagers my age who wish for a place to meet others to share their passion in a safe environment.

I began piano lessons at the age of 9. From my very first lessons, I was hooked on the piano and knew that classical music would play a major role in my life.
I learnt to play under the tutelage of Mrs. Elizabeth Retief and thereafter Professor Francois du Toit at the South African College of Music (UCT). I have also received lessons from Dr. Grethe Nothling, Tertia Visser-Downie and Dr. Esthea Kruger, as well as masterclasses from Professor Gustavo Romero (piano lecturer at the University of North Texas) and Professor Vladimir Kharin (piano lecturer at the Musikhochschule in Vienna).
I am currently focussing on my career and studies in the legal field (plot twist), while continuing to immerse myself in classical music through and with the CMAC.
